How Can Fifth Quadrant Assist You?

1Developing Management and Leadership Skills

You may possibly already have a successful business which you are conducting as owner and managing either by yourself or through a management structure. But you may be striving for more and better, or you may be facing a business challenge which you may not be able to master entirely on your own.

We can help you to

  • define your vision and strategy
  • reorganize your business, restructure your company and conduct other major changes
  • replace a key figure which suddenly left your company
  • develop a turnaround scenario, a plan for a rapid change in the case of an unfavourable business event or a crisis situation
  • further educate your existing management personnel
  • develop or adapt your business processes
  • successfully complete all other short-term tasks in the management and leadership segment.

2Establishing a Highly Efficient Sales Organization

Your products and services are available on the market but your sales are not growing according to your business plans. Do you have a highly efficient sales structure? Irrespective of whether it regards direct sales, indirect sales or their combination, each of these sales processes has its own rules and demands a "ruthless" daily discipline in its implementation.

We can help you to

  • define your key sales indicators and their monitoring
  • group your customers by importance and define the level of service and frequency of sales calls for each group
  • optimize the number of sales persons in regard to the current number of customers and planned growth rate
  • establish a list of prospective quality customers and define the mode of handling them
  • set the optimum number of daily sales calls (to existing or prospective customers) and work out weekly work programmes
  • efficiently prepare sales calls to your existing or prospective customers.
  • define the role of the sales leader in the business process
  • specify incentives for your sales personnel.

3Optimizing the Route to Market

Is your route to market optimal? Do you have direct sales, indirect sales (distributors and/or agents) or both? If you rely on distributors, do they have the necessary knowledge and skills? Do they know sufficiently about your products and their comparative advantages over the competition? Are your market strategies harmonized with theirs?

Our experience with a number of markets in the region guarantees that our advice will have a positive effect on the growth of sales and the cutting of costs.

We can help you to

  • analyze target groups of customers and their needs
  • research sales channels on the target market and their specificities
  • examine your existing route to market and its sustainability, and adopt appropriate improvements based on our recommendations
  • verify the alignment of your route to market with the specificities of your brands and their key differences compared to the competition
  • analyze your competition's route to market and the possibility of using your own route to market as a factor of distinction and advantage over your competition.

4Expanding Business Operations to Neighbouring Markets

Your company's strategy is to grow by expanding to neighbouring markets in the region. Maybe you have tried this already, but a lack of language skills and of acquaintance with the market, insufficient business contacts and other local specificities have blocked or slowed down your plans.

We can help you to

  • analyze the potentials of the new market for your products and services
  • examine the existing competition
  • chose the optimal route to market (direct of indirect sales)
  • register your own company if necessary
  • realize your business plans with the help of an experienced interim manager or acquire the necessary knowledge yourself.

Do You Need a Business Consultant or an Interim Manager?

If you require help analyzing the state of your business or developing a business strategy, you need a consultant. If, in turn, you are looking for help with the implementation of the strategic measures you have defined, an interim manager will be your best choice.

An interim manager can at the same time be a consultant, but a consultant is, usually, not an interim manager, because he does not engage in the implementation of the solutions he proposes.

The diagram above clarifies the division of roles of a business consultant, an interim manager and a director-employee.

The difference between a consultant and an interim manager thus lies in the fact that a consultant advises and recommends, remaining responsible to his own company. An interim manager implements the agreed measures, being directly and exclusively responsible to his client.

There are, however, persons, who due to their rich business experience, can at the same time function as business consultants and interim managers.
